  • Bel-Air Manor held an Open House on June 4th. Martinis, wine, great food from Hot Tomatoes, live music, and a raffle contributed to the festive atmosphere. Noted author Lynn McPhelimy brought copies of her book, In The Checklist of Life.

  • Bel-Air Manor hosted a fun-filled Open House on June 5th with Lynn McPhelimy, author of “In The Checklist of Life”, pictured on the far right with a copy of her book. Guests mingled and enjoyed the strains of beautiful piano music by Joe Grieco, martinis and great food from Hot Tomatoes. We enjoyed hosting old and new friends and welcoming them to Bel-Air Manor.     Mr. Richard Bates, BS, NHA, Administrator of Lord Chamberlain Manor, was recently honored by the ACHCA (American College of Health Care Administrators) with its coveted Leadership Award. This award is presented to administrators who exemplify leadership qualities that set their facilities apart as highest quality based on a number of quality measures. Shaun Savoie, BS, NHA, administrator of Aaron Manor, a sister Ryders facility in Chester, CT, has also received this award.

    Congratulations, Mr. Bates and Mr. Savoie! Thank you and all of our administrators for all you do to make your residents’ lives just that much better!

Mrs. Dee Miller, RN (at left) and Ms. Liz Burnhauser, RN (at right), both Lord Chamberlain Nursing & Rehabilitation Center nurses, exemplify the caliber of employees who lead the way to Ryders’ standards of excellence. Recently, Mrs. Miller and Ms. Burnhauser were honored with Nightingale Awards.

    The Nightingale Award for Excellence in Nursing celebrates outstanding nurses. Nominees “should have made a significant impact on patient care and/or the nursing profession; gone ‘beyond the call’ in a clearly illustrated way, demonstrated excellence or achieved a life-long legacy in a particular arena.”

  • Bel-Air staff served residents a festive gourmet Italian meal or “Pranzo Bella” accompanied by music.

  • Grateful Patient Thanks Bel-Air Staff

  • On August 10th, Edmund & Emily Reiss of Newington cooked a traditional Polish meal for several members of Bel-Air Manor’s nursing and rehabilitation staff in appreciation for their exceptional care and kindness when Mrs. Reiss was patient at Bel-Air Manor. Mrs. Reiss made a remarkable recovery and returned home able to accomplish all daily activities.
